The trouble with shooting up heroin, smoking dope,
taking a pop of LSD, or simply getting hammered with a shot of Chartreuse,
is that essentially, though you have wild sensations throughout your body,
you're still you. Your consciousness is of you. Not that that's bad. It's
just there's something better, which Gurdjieff describes as "creating
a new organ of perception." I've managed to get such an apparatus
in place, after all these years, and can tell you right now, the secret
door is opened, inside yourself, by walking down the street, sensing as
deep into your belly as you possibly can, and pretending you're Taylor
Swift.
